Linux Dominate Mobile Internet Devices
Researchers market forecast a bright future for open source developers. At the beginning the LinuxWorld Expo in San Francisco, ABI Research has announced that the’ open source is a big problem anchor in the nascent market for portable Internet devices. For the first time, Linux includes a three-day conference of mobile Linux conference. This year, the market researchers expect 305,000 ABI MIDs (Internet Mobile Devices) to be sold and anticipate that sales will join 39.6 million in late 2012.
ABI Research director Stuart Carlaw said that variant of Linux LiMo, Maemo - which serves as the basis for Nokia Internet tablets - and Moblin, which is supported Intel is clearly the leader as their achievement already anticipates important trends. They also anticipated that Microsoft Windows Mobile and other rivals fall behind the ‘open source operating system, saying
“The flexibility and configurability Linux over Windows Mobile your costs considerably lower, giving the Linux the leadership of this market.”
